It's a struggle I am sure for many. I've seen every sort of justification for it one could imagine. It's kind of appalling coming from believers especially. It also grieves me a bit knowing how many good artists aren't being heard because they aren't able to earn enough to do what they do. 5-10 years from now (if the piracy really continues to dampen everything) I think people will wish that they had done things differently.
